How to deposit USDC on Base into Regime Vault
A plain-language guide, written for people new to crypto.
Regime Vault is a vault that holds your money in USDC, a digital dollar, and manages Bitcoin exposure on your behalf. You deposit dollars, the vault adjusts how much Bitcoin it holds based on an on-chain model, and you can ask to withdraw at any time, with the exit settled on the next weekly cycle. Your funds are not sitting with one person, and they are not on an exchange. They sit in a Gnosis Safe on a public blockchain, where moving anything takes 3 signatures out of 4 from the Regime Vault team, and where you can watch every balance yourself.
If you have never used a crypto wallet before, the four steps below take about fifteen minutes the first time. After that, depositing takes under a minute.
Set up a wallet
A wallet is a free app that holds your funds and lets you sign transactions. It is yours alone; no company can freeze it. Popular, well-audited choices are Rainbow, MetaMask, or Coinbase Wallet.
Install the app, write down your recovery phrase on paper, and keep it offline. That phrase is the only way to recover your funds. Never share it with anyone, and no legitimate service will ever ask for it.
Get USDC on the Base network
Regime Vault lives on Base, an Ethereum Layer 2 built by Coinbase. It is fast and transactions cost about one cent. You need two things in your wallet: a small amount of ETH on Base to pay those fees, and the USDC you want to deposit.
The simplest path is to buy USDC on an exchange like Coinbase and withdraw it directly to your wallet address, selecting Base as the network. If your USDC is on another network, a bridge can move it to Base.
Connect your wallet and deposit
Open the deposit page and click Connect Wallet. Approve the connection in your wallet. This only grants the app permission to read your address and request transactions; it can never move funds without your explicit signature.
Enter the amount of USDC you want to deposit. The first time, your wallet asks you to approve USDC spending, then to confirm the deposit. Both are normal one-tap signatures.
Receive your vault shares
Once the deposit confirms, you receive rvDCA shares in your wallet. These represent your slice of the vault. As the strategy performs, the value of each share changes. Your shares are your position.
To exit, you request a withdrawal at any time. The request goes on-chain immediately and nobody can cancel it. It is honoured on the vault's weekly settlement cycle, following the ERC-7540 standard, when the 3-of-4 Safe settles that week's deposits and withdrawals and your USDC returns to your wallet.
A few things worth knowing
Where your funds sit, and who can move them. Your USDC lives in a Gnosis Safe on Base, not on an exchange and not in an opaque contract. It takes 3 of the 4 Safe keys to move anything, and those keys are held on separate devices by the founder, two associates, and one shared operational key. No single key, no single person and no bot can act on its own. That is real custody, and we would rather name it than dress it up. What makes it safe is not a promise, it is the structure: the keys are split, the weekly operations run through a second multisig that has no permission to send funds anywhere, the automation holds no on-chain role at all, and every balance and permission is verifiable on-chain for you to check. If you would rather ask a human first, our Telegram group is open and we answer there ourselves.
Fees are simple. 0.5% annual management and 10% performance, charged only on new highs above the previous peak. No deposit or withdrawal fees.
It is not risk-free. Bitcoin is volatile and the vault holds Bitcoin exposure. Only deposit what you can afford to leave invested. This is not financial advice.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need ETH on Base to deposit?
Yes, a small amount. Transactions on Base cost about one cent, so a few dollars of ETH lasts a long time. You also need the USDC you want to deposit, on the Base network.
How long do withdrawals take?
Any time. Your request goes on-chain immediately and nobody can cancel it. It is then honoured on the vault's weekly settlement cycle (the ERC-7540 async standard): the 3-of-4 Safe settles that week's deposits and withdrawals together, and your USDC lands back in your wallet. Worth being clear about one thing: that settlement is done by the team, not by an automatic contract. It is the one moment where you rely on us, and it is exactly why three of four keys are needed and why every cycle is public on Base.
Are there deposit or withdrawal fees?
No deposit or withdrawal fees. The vault charges 0.5% annual management and a 10% performance fee only on new highs above the previous peak (high-water mark).
All performance figures are simulated historical backtests, not live results, and past performance does not guarantee future results. Nothing on this page is financial advice.
